David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A representative for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
