British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
